You are provided with a list of tasks in this scenario. In order to perform some of these tasks, there are some pieces of information you will need.
The player is an administrator asked to learn Windows PowerShell. The administrator has been provided with a Microsoft Windows 10 virtual machine (VM) to learn foundational PowerShell cmdlets. This VM will help the administrator understand how to automate repeatable tasks, navigate filesystems and the Windows Registry, along with enhancing their administration skills.
The player landing spot is a Windows 10 workstation with a PowerShell shortcut on the desktop to quickly allow the administrator to begin learning. Each objective covers a foundational PowerShell skill expressed through a cmdlet to develop the skills of the administrator.
Rules of Engagement:
- The 10.x.x.x network is off limits. This is where all of the umpire and scoring functions happen. If this gets altered, your score may not be registered.
- The logging services (syslog, Even Viewer, nxlog) on the systems are off limits. These are also related to the umpire and scoring.
